Reflections..

Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Philippians 4:8

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy think about such things.”

The human mind is incredible. We can sit and imagine things. Play out scenarios that only exist in our minds and our bodies react to those thoughts and manifest accordingly. If we think on things that makes us anxious, our body will release cortisol and embody a stressful state. If we meditate on being angry, our body physically responds (heart racing, tensing up, etc).

The body can’t tell the difference from imagination and reality. The flesh defaults to the negative. It bends on being gratified and it doesn’t want to do anything the Spirit desires. This is why we must crucify it daily..

Galatians 5:17

“For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.”

2 Corinthians 10:5

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;”

The flesh can either be a vessel for good or evil. It can either submit to God’s Spirit or yield to its own desires. The enemy can use the flesh to carry out his will. He works through the 5 senses. Or the Lord can use our bodies as His vessel of Righteousness.

1 Corinthians 6:19

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;”

Romans 12:1

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

Romans 6:13

“Neither present your members unto sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.”
