Carbon Copies

Psalm 139:14 ” I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

One of the enemies biggest schemes is to create carbon copies, duplicates. He cannot create or do anything new, but he can only decieve and manipulate things. He uses patterns and cycles to achieve his bidding. There’s nothing original about the devil. The beauty of our Creator is simply that He is Creator.. He fashioned and designed us uniquely, each and everyone of us, but leave it up to our adversary to try and pigeon hole everyone into the same molds.

God created our anatomy so beautifully, and each part is vital. Our hands need our fingers, and our tongues need our mouths. Leave it to the enemy to have everyone one desiring to be a hand or desiring to be an eye. Instead of being our uniquely created selves, there’s a pressure to be like everyone else to be accepted. To be copy cats of one another, when we were all created for different purposes. Assimilation is robotic and void of life. I think of the colors of the rainbow and how each one, though different, shows its sheer beauty when displayed together. The world is missing out on others’ uniqueness.. I remember growing up in high school as a young African Amercian girl who listened to orchestra, oldies, rock, techno, and rap music, and dressed like a “skater” girl. I wasn’t ‘black enough’ for the kids of my skin color, and I was too ‘black’ for other groups. People really didn’t know what “box” to put me in. I remember struggling with my identity for a very long time coming up.

A tactic of the enemy is to box people in, to stripe away what makes them unique. Later on in life, I recall times at previous employers where I found myself constantly debunking the ‘stereotypes’ attached to being a woman of color. Challenging the automatic assumptions that were made, before I even had a chance to introduce myself. Satan is fear himself, and fear creates boxes and tries to apply mass labels. Jesus stood out from the crowd, and was different 💜
